UNI Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 2025
1. Overview
UNI ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use our mobile app, website, or related services (collectively, the "Platform").
We built UNI to help people discover experiences in the real world—not to sell data behind their backs. Your privacy isn't a feature; it's the foundation.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account Information: Name, age, email, gender, profile preferences (e.g., favorite artists, schools, hobbies).
- Usage Data: Interactions within the app such as RSVPs, check-ins, and event engagement.
- Location Data: With your consent, UNI uses device-based location data to recommend nearby experiences.
- Technical Data: Device type, OS version, app analytics, crash logs, and network diagnostics.
- Social DNA Data: Behavioral and preference data that helps personalize recommendations and improve UNI's Automated Concierge Engine (ACE).
We do not collect biometric or financial data unless it's required for secure verification or subscription payments (processed via trusted third-party providers).
3. How We Use Your Information
Your data fuels personalization and platform functionality. Specifically, we use it to:
- Provide location-based and interest-based recommendations.
- Improve our AI systems (ACE and Social DNA).
- Maintain security, detect fraud, and ensure compliance.
- Communicate updates, event reminders, and special promotions.
- Generate anonymized, aggregated insights for partners and analytics.
We never sell individualized personal data. Any insights shared with partners are aggregated, anonymized, and encrypted.
4. Data Protection & Security
Your data is protected using industry-standard security measures including:
- End-to-end encryption for all PII (Personally Identifiable Information).
- Zero-trust architecture for internal access controls.
- Regular security audits and compliance monitoring.
- Anonymization of behavioral and location data before external use.
In the event of a data breach, affected users will be promptly notified in accordance with applicable law.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide UNI's services or as required by law. Inactive accounts may be deleted after 24 months of inactivity.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access or download your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for processing.
- Opt out of targeted advertising or data analytics.
You can manage your data preferences anytime under Settings → Privacy → Data Controls.
7. Third-Party Services
UNI integrates with trusted third-party APIs (e.g., ticketing, mapping, payment, analytics) that may process limited data under their own privacy policies. We select partners who meet strict data-protection and compliance standards.
8. Children's Privacy
UNI is not available to users under 18. We employ age-verification protocols during onboarding to prevent underage access.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. When updated, we'll post the revision date and notify users through the app or email.
